Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Lincoln City and Sunderland square off against each other at LNER stadium in what is expected to be a close encounter. Lincoln have been in a splendid form of late, with the team beating the likes of Swindon, Wigan, and Rochdale in the previous three league fixtures, and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of the League One derby.
The Black Cats aim to put an end to their seven-game winless run in all competitions, but they will have a big fish to fry in Saturday’s clash against the in-form hosts. Lincoln seem to be at the top of their game at the moment, and we predict that they are going to pick up all three points from the League One derby. It has to be noted that Michael Appleton’s troops are eyeing their sixth consecutive win at home in the English third tier.
Highlighted Player (Liam Bridcutt ):

Liam Robert Bridcutt is a professional footballer who plays for Lincoln City as a defensive midfielder. Born in Reading, England on May 8, 1989, Bridcutt is a product of the Chelsea football academy, but he did not see any game action for the Blues at senior level. After ending his loan spells with Yeovil Town, Watford, and Stockport County, the 175-cm footballer signed a five-month contract with Brighton where he established himself as a first-team regular.
After making 132 appearances in the league for the Seagulls, Liam Bridcutt moved to Sunderland in the winter of 2014. He played for the likes of Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers as well before joining Lincoln City in January, 2020.
His main position is defensive midfield, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. The Lincoln City player has a dual citizenship (Scotland/England), and it has to be noted that he has two caps with the Scotland national team.
Highlighted Team (Sunderland):

Sunderland are a professional football club that have been playing their home games at the Stadium of Light since 1997. The capacity of the stadium is 49,000, but before expansion the original ground capacity was 42,000. Red and White shirts are Sunderland’s trademark and the club’s fiercest rivals are Newcastle United. The two local rivals have been contesting in the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898 and there have always been fireworks in what is one of the greatest derbies in English football. Sunderland were on the verge of dropping to the Championship in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but experienced tactician Sam Allardyce eventually helped the team avoid relegation.
The Black Cats have won six First Division trophies (now the Premier League), with the team lifting two FA Cup titles. Sunderland won their first FA Cup trophy in 1937, with the team beating Preston North End 3-1 in the title game. The club was founded in 1879 as Sunderland and District Teachers A.F.C.
