Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Montgomery Waters Meadow will host Saturday’s football game between Shrewsbury Town and Rochdale, who face each other on day 3 of the new League One campaign. The Shrews did well to beat promotion-chasing Portsmouth in the opening match of the season, but they were defeated by Milton Keynes Dons on Matchday 2. Sam Ricketts’ troops obviously produce much better displays at home than on the travels and, as a result, they are considered favourites in Saturday’s clash against the Dale.
Over the years Shrewsbury Town have turned their Montgomery Waters Meadow into a real fortress and we are positive that they are going to give fans yet another reason for celebration this weekend. One of the men to watch in the home team will be Ryan Giles, who scored the winner against the Pompey in the season opener.
Highlighted Player (Aaron Pierre):

Born on February 17, 1993 in Southall, England Aaron Pierre is a professional footballer who plays for Shrewsbury Town in the League One as a defender. Pierre started his youth career at Fulham at the age of 15 and in 2011 he moved to Brentford youth school.
Speaking of his senior career, the 185-cm-tall defender played for the likes of Brentford, Cambridge United, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton Town before signing a deal with Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2019. Aaron Pierre signed for the League One side for an undisclosed fee, penning a three-year deal. Despite being born in England, the Shrewsbury Town footballer represents Granada on the international stage.
He received his first call-up for the Grenada national team in September, 2015, but he has yet to find the net with the Spice Boys. The Grenada international’s main position is centre-back, whereas his preferred foot is left.
Highlighted Team (Rochdale):

Nicknamed the Dale, Rochdale are a professional English club that compete in the League One (English third tier). Rochdale were founded back in 1907, after World War I, with the team beating Accrington Stanley 6-3 in their first league game 14 years later.
The Dale wear blue shirts with black stripes and blue shorts when playing at home, whilst gray is the dominant colour of their away kit. Spotland Stadium is the club’s home ground, with the venue holding no more than 10,249 spectators. Bury and Oldham Athletic are considered the club’s fiercest rivals, but they have built up rivalries with the likes of Halifax Town, Burnley, Stockport County, Wigan Athletic and Accrington Stanley as well.
Back in 1962 Rochdale made it to the Football League Cup final, with the team facing Norwich City in the title game. The Canaries proved to be a big catch for the Dale, but this is still considered the club’s biggest success. It has to be noted that the Spotland Stadium outfit have three Lancashire Cup titles as well (1948/1949, 1970/1971, 2004/2005).
