Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Saturday’s football game at Boundary Park pits together Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United. The Latics did well to make amends for a 2-0 loss to Salford, with the team beating Cheltenham Town at home ground, and, to make things even better for the fans, they eliminated Hampton & Richmond in the FA Cup at the weekend. Pacey winger Blackwood was rested in the FA Cup clash, as well as several other first-team regulars, but Harry Kewell is going to field the best possible side against Scunthorpe.
The Iron, on the other hand, are on a seven-game losing run in all competitions, and it is no wonder Oldham are seen as favourites to win Saturday’s match. Taking everything into account, the Latics should take advantage of Scunthorpe’s current form. In their last meeting in the League Two the Iron defeated the Latics, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Conor McAleny):

Conor McAleny is a product of Everton youth academy, joining the club from Merseyside in 2003 at the age of 11. Despite the fact that his main position is centre-forward, McAleny is used as both second striker and left winger as well. McAleny did spend his youth career at Goodison Park, but it has to be noted that he made no more than two appearances for the Toffees at senior level.
The English attacker, who was born in Whiston on August 12, 1992, made his first-team debut in a 1-0 Premier League loss to Arsenal on December, 2011. Conor McAleny played for the likes of Scunthorpe United, Brentford, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic and Oxford United before signing a deal with Fleetwood Town.
The right-footed striker spent the second half of the 2018/2019 season on loan at Kilmarnock, scoring 3 goals in 11 appearances for the club in the Scottish Premier League.
Highlighted Team (Scunthorpe):

Founded back in 1899, Scunthorpe United are a professional football club that compete in League Two. The Iron wear sky blue and claret jerseys and claret shorts when playing on home soil, while green is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Scunthorpe United welcome their rivals at the Sands Venue Stadium, which can hold up to 9,088 people. The Iron recorded their biggest triumph (8-1) against Luton Town on April 24, 1965, with the team repeating the success 30 years later when they hammered Torquey United 8-1 in the New Division 3. As for the club’s biggest loss, the Iron were crushed by Carlisle United 8-0 on November 25, 1952.
Grimsby Town are seen as the club’s fiercest rivals, but they maintain rivalries with local clubs Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, and Lincoln City as well. Jack Brownsword (1947-65) holds the record for most appearances in Scunthorpe United shirt (783).
