Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Salford City and Oldham Athletic square off against each other at Peninsula Stadium on day 10 of the new League Two campaign. Salford dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Crawley at the weekend, but they are surely capable of beating Oldham on home soil. The Lions aim to regain their spot in top seven, and we are positive that they will go for a win in Saturday’s football match.
The Latics, on the other hand, gave fans some cheer on Tuesday evening as they defeated Southend United on the road. However, Salford are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the visitors than the Seasiders, who are seen as one of the main favourites to suffer relegation to the English fifth tier. In their last meeting at Peninsula Stadium the two teams played out a 1-1 draw, but home win should be considered this time out.
Highlighted Player (Richie Towell):

Richie Towell is a professional footballer who was born in Dublin, Ireland on July 17, 1991. After starting his youth career at Crumlin United, Towell was spotted by Celtic scouts in 2007, and he decided to join the famous Scottish outfit.
However, he made only one appearance for the Hoops at senior level, coming as a substitute for Jos Hooiveld in a 2-2 draw with Inverness in November 2010. Ritchie Towell played for the likes of Hibernian (loan), Dundalk, Brighton, and Rotherham United (loan) as well before signing a deal with his current club Salford City.
The Salford City midfielder has nine caps with the Republic of Ireland U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up with the senior team. His primary position is central midfield, but he is used as an attacking midfielder as well. Richie Towell has two Irish Premier League trophies with Dundalk (2013, 2014).
Highlighted Team (Oldham):

Based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, Oldham Athletic are a professional football club that compete in League Two. The Latics play their home matches at Boundary Park, the venue with the capacity of 13,512 spectators. Oldham Athletic are well known for their blue and white home kit, with the owl being the symbol of the club.
The Latics did remarkably well to make it to the League Cup final in 1990, but Nottingham Forest proved to be a big catch for Joe Royle’s troops in the title game. Oldham made it to the FA Cup semis on three occasions (1912/13, 1989/90, 1993/94), and in 1979 they advanced to the Anglo-Scottish Cup final. The Latics registered their biggest league triumph on December 26, 1962, with the team crushing Southport 11-0 in Division 4.
Speaking of the club’s heaviest defeat, Oldham Athletic were hammered by Tranmere Rovers 14-3 at Prenton Park on December 26, 1935. Bolton, Stockport, and Blackburn are the club’s traditional rivals, but nowadays, Huddersfield Town are seen as the Latics’ fiercest rivals.
