Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 win at Port Vale, Walsall will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on a fellow relegation-threatened side Macclesfield Town at Banks’s Stadium. The Saddlers have been showing signs of improvement of late, especially at the back. Walsall managed to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous two league games, and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence against Macclesfield Town.
The Silkmen, on the other hand, shared the spoils with the likes of Mansfield, Bradford City and Salford City in the last three league fixtures. Macclesfield Town look sharp at the back as well, meaning that a low-scoring is on the horizon at Banks’s Stadium. You should bear in mind that there have been under 2.5 goals in each of the Silkmen’s last three league fixtures.
Highlighted Player (Shay Facey):

Shay Facey is a product of the Manchester City football academy who plays at Walsall as a defender. The 179-cm-tall footballer played for the likes of New York City, Rotherham United, and Heerenveen on loan before signing a permanent deal with Walsall in the summer of 2019.
Facey made his League Two debut with Walsall in a 2-0 loss to Oldham Athletic on October 22, 2019. Even though he represented England U16, England U17, England U19, and England U20 teams in the past, he has yet to earn a call-up with the England senior team. Shay Facey’s main position is right-back, but he is capable of producing good displays at centre-back as well. The player who has dual citizenship (England/Jamaica) wears the number 24 jersey at Walsall.
It has to be noted that he scored his first league goal during his spell at Northampton Town. Shay Facey found the net for the Cobblers in a 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town on March 20, 2018.
