Our match prediction:
Having booked their place in the Champions League final in midweek, Atletico Madrid will be aiming to keep their La Liga title hopes alive with a victory over rock-bottom Levante on Sunday afternoon. Los Levantinos have already started packing their bags and they are unlikely to make life difficult for los Rojiblancos at their Estadio Ciudad de Valencia. Rubi’s men have been struggling at the back of late, with the team conceding ten goals in previous three league games and that is one of the reasons why we predict the capital club will return home with all three points in their pocket. Antoine Griezmann proved his worth in the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich and the French attacker is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition back line. Atletico Madrid are eager to stay in the race for the domestic trophy and they are likely to emerge triumphant in Sunday’s football match.
Highligted Player (Fernando Torres):
Fernando Torres is a product of Atletico Madrid’s youth school. The 186-cm-tall attacker scored 82 goals in 214 league appearances for the capital club and in 2007 he moved to England. Torres signed a deal with Liverpool and he played for the Anfield outfit from 2007 to 2011. On 31 January, 2011 he signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with fellow Premier League club Chelsea and it has to be noted that he won the Champions League trophy with the Blues in 2012. The Spanish attacker clinched the 2012/2013 Europa League title with Chelsea as well, but on 31 August, 2014 he joined Serie A side Milan on loan. Torres made his debut for the Rossoneri on 20 September, 2014, coming as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Juventus. The Spanish forward returned to Atletico Madrid on 29 December, 2014 and he scored 11 goals for los Rojiblancos in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign.
