Our football match prediction:
Even though everybody expected that Amiens would suffer a heavy loss to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes in their opener, the newcomers produced a fine display against the star-studded capital club and eventually lost the game 2-0. Amiens fans certainly have a reason for optimism and their favourites are definitely capable of grabbing something from Saturday’s football match against Angers. Amiens recorded a win in each of their last three games at their Stade de la Licorne (competitive) and we predict that they are going to pick up all three points from their first home match of the season. Angers, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Bordeaux and Baptiste Guillaume scored a late equalizer for Stephane Moulin’s troops. Angers often struggle on travels in the French top flight and we would not be surprised if the visitors return home empty-handed from the trip to Amiens.
Highlighted Player (Thomas Monconduit):
Thomas Monconduit is a product of Auxerre football academy. The midfielder made a great progress during his spell with the Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps outfit and continued playing for the club at senior level. Monconduit scored three goals in 63 appearances for Auxerre II and he played 42 games for the first team from 2012 to 2014. In 2015 he joined Amiens and you should bear in mind that the 178-cm-tall midfielder made 36 appearances for les Licornes in the 2016/2017 Ligue 2 campaign. Amiens finished the season in second place in the standings and, as a result, they secured promotion to the French top flight. Thomas Monconduit scored three goals during the season and, no doubt, he played a very important role in Christophe Pelissier’s team in the 2016/2017 season. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. Thomas Monconduit has a contract with Amiens which expires on June 30, 2018 and his preferred foot is right. Louis DENOLLE is the player’s agent.
Highlighted Team (Angers):
French Football Federation was founded in 1919, with French football club Angers being founded the same year. Les Scoistes returned to the French top flight at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they finished the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign in ninth place in the standings. Angers were having their ups and downs in the 2016/2017 season and, as a result, they finished 12th. Les Scoistes are well known for their black jerseys with white stripes, whilst the color of their away kits is white. Stade Raymond Kopa is the team’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 17.835. The venues was opened back in 1912 and the stadium’s record attendance is 22.989 (April 26, 1969 vs. Olympique Marseille). Speaking of the club’s most notable players, we have to mention Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Vladica Kovacevic, Claudiu Keseru, Paul Alo’o, Amar Rouai and Cedric Daury. It has to be noted that the 2017/2018 season will be their 24th in the French top flight.
