Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
As expected, Amiens were beaten by Olympique Lyon on the road in the opening match of the season. Les Licornes, though, did not produce a poor display in their opener, which is certainly giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Montpellier. Amiens produce much better displays at home than on the travels and seeing that La Paillade suffered a 2-1 loss to Dijon at the weekend, we predict that the hosts are going to grab something from Saturday’s football match. Montpellier are eager to bounce back from the loss to Dijon and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the Stade de la Licorne clash. In each of their previous two meetings in the French top flight the two teams shared the spoils and there is every chance the history is going to repeat itself.

Highlighted Player (Thomas Monconduit):

Thomas Monconduit is a product of Auxerre football academy. The midfielder made a great progress during his spell with the Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps outfit and continued playing for the club at senior level. Monconduit scored three goals in 63 appearances for Auxerre II and he played 42 games for the first team from 2012 to 2014.
In 2015 he joined Amiens and you should bear in mind that the 178-cm-tall midfielder made 36 appearances for les Licornes in the 2016/2017 Ligue 2 campaign. Amiens finished the season in second place in the standings and, as a result, they secured promotion to the French top flight. Thomas Monconduit scored three goals during the season and, no doubt, he played a very important role in Christophe Pelissier’s team in the 2016/2017 season.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. Thomas Monconduit has a contract with Amiens which expires on June 30, 2018 and his preferred foot is right. Louis DENOLLE is the player’s agent.
Highlighted Team (Montpellier):

Over the years Montpellier have established themselves as a mid-table side in French Ligue 1. Montpellier are considered one of the youngest clubs in France as they were founded in 1974, but it has to be noted that a number of high-profile footballers played for the club in the past. French football legend Laurent Blanc played for Montpellier from 1981-1993 and he scored 76 goals in 24 appearances in the league for the club. Eric Cantona, Roger Milla, Carlos Valderama and Olivier Giroud played in Montpellier’s colors as well, but Pascal Baills is the player with most appearances for the club (429).
La Paillade did remarkably well to win the Ligue 1 trophy in 2012 and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Montpellier won Coupe de France on two occasions (1929, 1990), with the team beating FC Sete and FC Paris respectively in the title games. The team welcome their rivals at Stade de la Mosson and the capacity of the stadium is 32.900. In 1999 Montpellier won the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
