Our football match prediction:
Amiens impressed in the 2016/2017 Ligue 2 campaign, but they have been struggling to find their form in the French top flight. The newcomers suffered a loss in each of their three league games and they have yet to find the net in the Ligue 1 this season. Amiens were hammered by Saint-Etienne on the road at the weekend and, no doubt, Christophe Pelissier’s troops will give 100% to grab something from Saturday’s football match against Nice. Les Aiglons recorded their first win of the season at the weekend, with the team beating Guingamp 2-0 in front of home fans. Wesley Sneijder made his Ligue 1 debut against Antoine Kombouare’s charges and we predict that the Dutch midfielder is going to play an important role in Lucien Favre’s team in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign. Nice have been in a much better form of late than Amiens and away win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Guessouma Fofana):
Guessouma Fofana is a footballer of Malian descent who plays for Amiens in Ligue 1. Fofana started his career at Le Havre B and after making 20 appearances for the club he joined Boulogne B in 2012. Due to the lack of first-team football, he moved to Lyon-Duchere in 2013 and the midfielder played 43 games for the club before joining Amiens in 2015. The 184-cm-tall footballer has been playing for les Licornes ever since and it has to be noted that he scored three goals and provided three assists for his teammates in the 2016/2017 Ligue 2 campaign. Amiens enjoyed a very successful season and, as a result, they secured promotion to the French top flight. Guessouma Fofana was born in Le Havre on December 17, 1992 and his preferred foot is right. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. Fofana’s contract with Amiens expires on June 30, 2018.
Highlighted Team (OGC Nice):
Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac. Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white. The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
