Our football match prediction:
Angers will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 season when they host Metz at their Stade Raymond Kapa. Les Scoistes found the net in each of their five league fixtures and it is no surprise they are seen as favourites on paper to win Sunday’s football game against Metz. Angers are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that the rock-bottom team suffered a heavy 5-1 loss to PSG at home in their last league match, we predict that Stephane Moulin’s troops are going to record their second win of the season this weekend. Les Grenats are desperate to put an end to their five-match losing run in the French top flight, but they are low on confidence ahead of the trip to Angers and we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the underdogs.
Highlighted Player (Romain Thomas):
Romain Thomas is a product of Brest football academy and he made three appearances for the first team during his spell at Stade Francis-Le Bie. Thomas spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Pacy Vallee-d’Eure and in 2010 he moved to lower-league side USJA Carquefou. After spending three seasons at the club the 193-cm-tall defender, who is very good in the air, moved to Angers. Romain Thomas quickly established himself as a first team regular at the club and you should know that he made 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2016/2017 season. Despite playing as a defender, the French footballer often finds the net and he scored his first goal for Angers on September 27, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Tours. The centre-back, whose preferred foot is right, was born in Landerneau, France on June 12, 1988. Romain Thomas’ contract with les Scoistes expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference). However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
