Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
After sharing the spoils with Saint Etienne at the weekend, Angers will be looking to return to winning ways in the Ligue 1 when they host Strasbourg at their Stade Raymond-Kopa. Les Scoistes are eager to retain their spot in top ten, and we are positive that they will go for a win in the midweek clash. The likes of Amadou, Boufal, Ebosse, and Thioub are all likely to miss the game with injuries.
Le Racing, on the other hand, have been scoring goals for fun of late, with the team netting six goals in total in the previous two league fixtures. Strasbourg look sharp in front of goal, and given Angers’ attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. The likes of Sels, Mothiba, Kone, Bellegarde, and Saadi are injured for the visitors, while Mitrovic is banned.

Highlighted Player (Romain Thomas):

Romain Thomas is a product of Brest football academy and he made three appearances for the first team during his spell at Stade Francis-Le Bie. Thomas spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Pacy Vallee-d’Eure and in 2010 he moved to lower-league side USJA Carquefou.
After spending three seasons at the club the 193-cm-tall defender, who is very good in the air, moved to Angers. Romain Thomas quickly established himself as a first team regular at the club and you should know that he made 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2016/2017 season.
Despite playing as a defender, the French footballer often finds the net and he scored his first goal for Angers on September 27, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Tours. The centre-back, whose preferred foot is right, was born in Landerneau, France on June 12, 1988. Romain Thomas’ contract with les Scoistes expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Strasbourg):

Founded back in 1906, Strasbourg is a professional football team that compete in French Ligue 1. Le Racing did remarkably well to win the 1979 Ligue 1 trophy and that is considered the biggest success in the history of the club. Strasbourg won Coupe de France on three occasions (1951, 1966, 2001) and they have three Coupe de la Ligue trophies as well (1964, 1997, 2005). Strasbourg’s main rivals are Metz and the two teams face each other in the Derby de l’Est (The Eastern derby).
Le Racing recorded their biggest victory over Valenciennes (10-0) in the 1937-1938 season, whilst they suffered their biggest loss to Limoges (0-8) in the 1959/1960 season. Paraguayan goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert, who is well known for his free-kick abilities, played for the club from 2000 to 2003, but he failed to score in a league match during his spell with the Stade de la Meinau outfit. Speaking of Stade de la Meinau, Strasbourg’s home ground was opened back in 1914 and the capacity of the venue is 29,320.
