Our football match prediction:
Stade Michel d’Ornano will host Saturday’s football match between Caen and Amiens. Following three straight wins over the likes of Lille, Metz and Dijon, Caen suffered a 1-0 loss to Nantes in their last league fixture, but they are considered favourites to win the game against Amiens. Caen have been impressive at home ground of late and we predict that they are going to extend their winning run at Stade Michel d’Ornano to three games. Amiens failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to star-studded Olympique Marseille at the weekend and we would not be surprised if they fail to grab something from Saturday’s clash against Caen. In their last meeting in a competitive match (Ligue 2, 2007) Caen recorded a 3-1 win over Amiens and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Patrice Garande’s troops, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home.
Highlighted Player (Ivan Santini):
Ivan Santini is a Croatia international who plays for Caen as a striker. Santini was born on May 21, 1989 in Zadar, Croatia and he played for his hometown club Zadar at the start of his youth career. In 2006 he moved to fellow Croatian club Inter Zapresic and at the end of the 2006/2007 season he joined Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. In 2009 Ivan Santini signed for 2. Bundesliga team Ingolstadt and he made his debut for the club on March 8, 2009. The Croatian attacker came as a substitute in a match against 1860 Munchen and scored his first goal in the German second tier. Santini soon returned to Zadar and after spending four years at the club, he signed for Belgian team Kortrijk in 2013. The 190-cm-tall striker scored 30 goals in 69 appearances for the club in the league and, as a result, Standard Liege chiefs decided to bring him to Stade Maurice Dufrasne in the summer of 2015. Ivan Santini moved to French club Caen in 2016 and he has been playing for the Ligue 1 outfit ever since. The attacker made his senior debut for Croatia on May 28, 2017 in a 2-1 win over Mexico.
Highlighted Team (Amiens):
Amiens are a French football club that compete in Ligue 1. Les Licornes (The Unicorns) finished the 2016/2017 Ligue 2 campaign in second place in the standings and, as a result, they secured promotion to the French top flight for the first time ever. Amiens got their job done on the final day of the season, with Emmanuel Bourgaud scoring a late winner in the game against Reims. The club was founded back in 1901 by a group of players from the Association du Lycee d’Amiens and nowadays les Licornes play their home games at Stade de La Licorne. The capacity of the venue is 12.097 and it was opened on July 24, 1999. Experienced midfielder Mathieu Bodmer joined the club in the summer of 2017 and he is considered one of the team’s best players. The experienced defender used to play for the likes of Lyon, Lille, and Paris Saint-Germain in the past. Amiens play their home games in white shirts and white shorts, while they wear black when playing on the road.
