Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Guingamp, who are last in the standings in Ligue 1, are travelling to Caen to play the home team who is not doing so well either and are in 15th place. The venue will be the Stade Michel-d’Ornano. Guingamp have one victory this season, which came against Angers in round 8. They have conceded the most goals out of any team this season and only Reims have scored fewer goals than them. In their last ten matches in all competitions, Guingamp has seven defeats along with that one win and two draws. Caen have three wins in their last ten matches, also, three defeats and four draws. They beat Amiens in round 8 before losing to Marseille in round 9, their last match before this one. Even though they are the worst team in the league at the moment, Guingamp will be encouraged that they haven’t lost a game in the last three rounds. They might surprise Caen and take away the full three points from this match.

Highlighted Player (Frédéric Guilbert):

Despite his modest height for a centre-back, Frederic Guilbert is a remarkably strong in aerial duels. Former France U21 international is a player of great positional awareness and tactical discipline who makes immense defensive contribution for his team.
A versatile defender who can play in various positions across the backline, Guilbert can also be deployed as a right midfielder where his speed and agility come to play. Born in Valognes, Frederic Guilbert spent all of his career playing in France although he has thus far failed to spend more than two seasons at a single club. Spells at Caen, AS Cherbourg, Bordeaux were insufficient for Guilbert to secure regular playing time and prove his worth, which he hopes would change at Caen.
Guilbert joined the Stade Michel d’Ornano based club on a permanent deal in 2017, after a season-long loan spell away from Bordeaux. He went on to play 42 matches across all competitions in his second season with Caen and has done well to announce himself as an important player for the French side.
Highlighted Team (Guingamp):

En Avant de Guingamp Cotes-d’Armor are a French football club based in the commune of Guingamp. Guingamp was founded back in 1912 and it has to be noted that a number of top-class footballers played for the club in the past. The likes of Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda, Fabrice Abriel and Vincent Candela all wore Guingamp’s shirt and, no doubt, the club served them as a springboard.
Guingamp returned to the Ligue 1 in 2013 and they have been competing in the French elite division ever since. In 1996 the French team did well to win the Intertoto Cup and book their place in European competitions for the first time ever. However, Italian giants proved to be a big catch for the Ligue 1 club in the first round of the UEFA Cup.
One year later Guingamp made it to the French Cup final, but they were more than unfortunate not to lift the trophy. After playing out a draw with Nice in the regular time, the Stade de Roudourou outfit were eventually beaten by les Aiglones on penalties.
