Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Michel d’Ornano will host Saturday’s football game between Caen and Lille. Caen scored 2+ goals in each of their previous three league fixtures and we predict that they are going to stick to their attacking style of play against Lille. Fabien Mercadal’s charges sit in the danger zone in the Ligue 1 standings, meaning that this game could be crucial for them in their battle for survival. Lille, on the other hand, have been playing above expectations in the 2018/2019 season and, as a result, they sit in second position in the standings. Les Dogues are eyeing their third consecutive win on the road in the French top flight and seeing that Caen have been impressive in front of goal of late, we predict that both teams are going to find the net on Matchday 20.

Highlighted Player (Stef Peeters):

Stef Peeters is a Belgian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 1 side Caen. After making only five appearances for Racing Genk (2011-2015) he was loaned to Sparta Rotterdam in 2013. At the end of the 2013/2014 season he signed a loan deal with fellow Dutch club MVV Maastricht and in 2015 he signed a permanent contract with the club.
In 2016 Stef Peeters joined Sint-Truiden and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 39 appearances for the Belgian club. The midfielder then (2017) moved to France to sign a four-year deal with Caen and he is going to wear No. 8 on his shirt in the 2017/2018 season.
The Belgian player was born on February 9, 1992 in Meeuwen-Gruitrode, but he has yet to earn a cap for the Belgium national football team. Peeters’ main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder as well. The left-footed footballer has a contract with Caen which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Lille):

Lille have been playing an important role in French football ever since they were founded in 1944. Les Dogues won their first domestic trophy in the 1945/1946 season.
Lille did well to win their second Ligue 1 title in 1954 and 57 years later they lifted their last domestic title. Les Douges finished the 2010/2011 season in top position in the standings, eight points clear of second-placed Olympique Marseille and it has to be noted that Lille attacker Moussa Sow won the Golden Boot (25 goals).
Lille are one of the two teams that managed to win three consecutive Coupe de France trophies (1946, 1947, 1948), but they have yet to clinch the Coupe de la Ligue title. Les Dogues faced PSG in the 2015/2016 Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but les Parisiens proved to be a big catch for Frederic Antonetti’s team in the title game.
Lille play their home matches at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and the capacity of the stadium is 50.186. The venue was opened in August, 2017 and the construction cost €282 million.
