Our football match prediction:
Caen will be aiming to build on a 2-0 win over Lille when they square off against Metz on day 4 of the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign. Patrice Garande’s troops recorded their first win of the season in Sunday’s football match against les Dogues and they will be aiming to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they welcome Metz at their Stade Michel D’Ornano. Les Grenats have been struggling to find their form at the start of the season and they suffered a loss in each of their three league games in the French top flight. Coach Philippe Hinschberger feels pressure ahead of the trip to Caen and seeing that the visitors have been struggling in front of goal of late, we predict that Caen will pick up all three points from Saturday’s football match. In their last meeting in the French elite division Caen recorded a 3-0 victory over Metz.
Highligted Player (Ivan Santini):
Ivan Santini is a Croatia international who plays for Caen as a striker. Santini was born on May 21, 1989 in Zadar, Croatia and he played for his hometown club Zadar at the start of his youth career. In 2006 he moved to fellow Croatian club Inter Zapresic and at the end of the 2006/2007 season he joined Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. In 2009 Ivan Santini signed for 2. Bundesliga team Ingolstadt and he made his debut for the club on March 8, 2009. The Croatian attacker came as a substitute in a match against 1860 Munchen and scored his first goal in the German second tier. Santini soon returned to Zadar and after spending four years at the club, he signed for Belgian team Kortrijk in 2013. The 190-cm-tall striker scored 30 goals in 69 appearances for the club in the league and, as a result, Standard Liege chiefs decided to bring him to Stade Maurice Dufrasne in the summer of 2015. Ivan Santini moved to French club Caen in 2016 and he has been playing for the Ligue 1 outfit ever since. The attacker made his senior debut for Croatia on May 28, 2017 in a 2-1 win over Mexico.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference). However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
