Our football match prediction:
Dijon continue with their habit of producing fine performances at home ground, but they continue to struggle on the travels. The Mustards are on a five-game winning run on home soil in the Ligue 1 and they are likely to stick to stick to their attacking style of play in Saturday’s football match against Metz. Dijon aim to retain their spot in top ten, but the rock-bottom team should not be written off just yet. Back-to-back wins over the likes of Montpellier and Strasbourg gave les Grenats a confidence boost and it has to be noted that they head into the game against Dijon following a 4-2 win over Dunkerque in the Coupe de France. Metz have been scoring goals for fun in all competitions of late and, taking everything into account, we predict that they are going to share the spoils with the Mustards on Matchday 20.
Highlighted Player (Baptiste Reynet):
Baptiste Reynet is a goalkeeper who was born in Romans, France on October 28, 1990. After playing for the likes of Moursoise and Valence at youth level, he joined Martigue football academy in 2007. The 185-cm-tall shoot-stopper made 53 appearances for the Martigues first team and in 2011 he moved to Dijon. Baptiste Reynet was producing fine performances with the Mustards in the 2012/2013 Ligue 2 campaign and, as a result, Lorient chiefs decided to bring him to Stade du Moustoir. Reynet, though, played only six games for les Merlus in the French top flight as he was loaned back to Dijon after only one year at Lorient. The French goalkeeper impressed in the 2015/2016 Ligue 2 campaign and it has to be noted that he made 17 clean sheets in the process. Baptiste Reynet, who has established himself as a first-choice shoot-stopper at Dijon has a contract with the club which expired on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference). However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
