Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Louis II will host Sunday’s football game between Monaco and Rennes, the two teams who sit in the danger zone in the Ligue 1 standings. Monaco have been struggling in the French top flight ever since several first-team regulars left the club, but they are definitely capable of getting back on course. Les Rouges et Blancs aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Saint-Etienne and they are considered favourites to win Sunday’s clash against Rennes. Les Rouges et Noirs, on the other hand, are only two points clear of the relegation zone ahead of the trip to Monaco and given their poor away record, we are tempted to put our money on the last season’s runners-up. A man to watch in the home team will be experienced Colombian attacker Radamel Falcao, who has netted three goals in the French top flight so far this term.

Highlighted Player (Djibril Sidibé):

Born in Troyes, Djibril Sidibe made his first football steps at his hometown club. Having excelled throughout the youth ranks, Sidibe was rewarded with his professional debut in 2010. Two years later he moved to Lille where he established himself as one of the biggest prospects in French football.
A 2016 move to Ligue 1 giants Monaco came as a reward for his impressive qualities. Sidibe is a solid right-back who is great at picking out passes, especially with crosses. A determined individual, Sidibe does not easily get caught out in a wide space. His impressive footwork make him a difficult player to play against going forward which he has a knack for.
Monaco are expected to be another stepping stone in his career and it won’t be too long before the World Cup winning French international has made a move to one of Europe’s top sides.
Highlighted Team (Stade Rennes):

Stade Rennais Football Club or simply Rennes is a French football club which was founded on March 10, 1901. The club is one of the founding members of the French Ligue 1 and they are nicknamed Les Rouges et Noirs. Roazhon Park is the club’s home ground and the venue can hold 29.778 people. Rennes have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but they won Coupe de France title on two occasions (1964/1965, 1970/1971). Speaking of Coupe de la Ligue, les Rouges et Noirs made it to the final of the competition in the 2012/2013 season, but they were beaten by Saint Etienne (1-0) in the title game at Stade de France.
A number of top-class footballers played for Stade Rennais Football Club in the past and the likes of Sylvain Wiltord, Yoann Gourcuff, Yann M’Vila, Moussa Sow and Jimmy Briand are considered the club’s most notable players. Rennes footballers wear black and red jerseys when playing at home, while they wear white when playing on the travels.
