Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Montpellier square off against Dijon at their Stade de la Mosson on day 1 of the 2018/2019 Ligue 1 campaign. Over the years La Paillade have established themselves as a mid-table side in the French elite division, but the team aim to make it to the Europa League this time out. A man to watch in the home team will be Ivory Coast international Sio, who scored 10 goals in the French top flight last term. Dijon, on the other hand, head into Saturday’s football match following back-to-back losses to the likes of Southampton and Reims and seeing that they were struggling to find their best form in pre-season, we predict that Montpellier, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home, will pick up all three points from the season opener. However, you should keep in mind that Montpellier failed to beat Dijon in previous five meetings between the two teams in the Ligue 1.

Benjamin Lecomte is a French goalkeeper who started playing football at the age of six. Lecomte was born in Paris on April 26, 1991 and in 1997 he joined Arcueil Municipal football academy. After spending eight years at the club he joined Antony Sports in 2006 and four years later he moved to Niort. Finally, he continued his footballing development at Lorient.
The 186-cm-tall shoot-stopper played 22 games Lorient B before making his first-team debut in October 2010 in a Coupe de la Ligue match against AS Monaco. In January 2011 Benjamin Lecomte signed a professional contract with les Merlus and it has to be noted that he made 119 appearance in the league for the club from 2010 to 2017.
In 2017 he moved to Montpellier, signing a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit. The Montpellier goalkeeper has 2 caps for France U20 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team.
Highlighted Team (Dijon):

Founded in 1998, Dijon is a result of a merger between two local clubs. The Mustards played their first ever match in the Ligue 1 on August 7, 2011, with the team suffering a heavy 5-1 loss on their debut in the French top flight. After suffering relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2011/2012 season, the club returned to the French elite division in 2016.
The Mustards finished the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign in 16th place in the standings, only one point clear of the relegation zone. Dijon are well known for their red jerseys, while they wear white when playing on the road. The Mustards welcome their rivals at Stade Gaston Gerard, the venue which was both built and opened in 1934. In the 1998/1999 season the club recorded a historical 12-1 Coupe de France win over Mahault Baie and that is considered the club’s biggest ever win in a competitive match.
Stephane Mangione, who made 181 appearances for the club, is regarded as one of the team’s famous players.
