Our football match prediction:
Following a goalless draw with Olympique Lyon Nantes recorded three consecutive wins in the Ligue 1, with the team beating the likes of Montpellier, Caen and Strasbourg. Les Canaris are brimming with confidence ahead of Saturday’s football match against Metz and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence against les Grenats. Nantes are eyeing their second home win of the season and we predict that they will give fans yet another reason for celebration this weekend. Metz, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 loss to ten-man Troyes at home in their last league games and, as a result, they are a rock-bottom side in the Ligue 1 ahead of Matchday 8. Nantes have been in a much better form of late than Metz and, taking everything into account, we believe that les Canaris will extend their winning run in the French top flight.
Highlighted Player (Diego Carlos):
Diego Carlos is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Nantes as a defender. His main position is centre-back and his preferred foot is right. Diego Carlos began his youth career at America-SP and in 2010 he moved to Desportivo Brasil. After spending the 2012/2013 season on loan at Sao Paulo, the 185-cm-tall defender returned to Desportivo Brasil. However, he made his first-team debut with Madureira during his spell with the club (2014). In 2014 Diego Carlos signed a contract with Portuguese club Estoril Praia and he scored two goals in 39 appearances for the Primeira Liga club. It has to be noted, though, that he played for Porto B (on loan) in the 2014/2015 season. Diego Carlos moved to French club Nantes in the summer of 2016 and you should bear in mind that he quickly established himself as a first-team regular with les Canaris. The Brazilian footballer scored two goals in 34 appearances for Nantes in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. His contract with the Ligue 1 side expires on June 20, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference). However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
