Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Toulouse will be looking to keep their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Ligue 1 when they face Nantes at Stade de la Beaujoire on Matchday 12. Les Pitchouns have been impressive at the back of late and we predict that they will rely on their rock-solid defence in Saturday’s football match against les Canaris. Toulouse are not regarded as good travelers, but you should know that they did well to beat Angers in their last league fixture. Nantes, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Dijon and they are after their fourth consecutive win at home ground. Over the years les Canaris have turned their Stade de la Beaujoire into a real fortress and it is no surprise Claudio Ranieri’s men are seen as favourites to win Saturday’s clash. Nantes are eyeing a place in European competitions and we believe that they will return to winning ways in the national championship this weekend.
Highlighted Player (Diego Carlos):
Diego Carlos is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Nantes as a defender. His main position is centre-back and his preferred foot is right. Diego Carlos began his youth career at America-SP and in 2010 he moved to Desportivo Brasil. After spending the 2012/2013 season on loan at Sao Paulo, the 185-cm-tall defender returned to Desportivo Brasil. However, he made his first-team debut with Madureira during his spell with the club (2014). In 2014 Diego Carlos signed a contract with Portuguese club Estoril Praia and he scored two goals in 39 appearances for the Primeira Liga club. It has to be noted, though, that he played for Porto B (on loan) in the 2014/2015 season. Diego Carlos moved to French club Nantes in the summer of 2016 and you should bear in mind that he quickly established himself as a first-team regular with les Canaris. The Brazilian footballer scored two goals in 34 appearances for Nantes in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. His contract with the Ligue 1 side expires on June 20, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Toulouse):
Toulouse are a professional football club that compete in Ligue 1. Les Pitchouns are well known for their purple jerseys with white stripes and it has to be noted that they used to wear red and yellow jerseys in the past. Toulouse welcome their opponents at Stadium Municipal and the capacity of the team’s home ground is 33.150. Stadium Municipal was used as a venue for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
In 1982 the club secured promotion to the Ligue 1 for the first time ever and you should bear in mind that the likes of Jacques Santini and Daniel Jeandupeux were part of the team. A win over Napoli in the round 1 of the 1986/1987 UEFA Cup is considered one of the club’s biggest success as football legend Diego Maradona played for the Italian team back then, attacker Daniel Jeandupeux scored the winner for Toulouse in the penalty shoot-out. Bordeaux are regarded as the club’s fiercest rivals and the two teams face each other in Derby de la Garonne.
