Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Even though they’ve managed two wins in the last six matches in Ligue 1, Guingamp are still bottom of the table. In round 25 they are travelling to the Stade des Lumieres to face Lyon. Sitting in third place in the table, the home side is six points away from Lille in second and six points above Montpellier in fourth. Two sides met only a week ago in the Coupe de France where Lyon won 2:1. Hosts started 2019 with a loss to Strasbourg but have since gone five games unbeaten in the league. However, in the last round, they lost 1:0 to Nice. Guingamp lost the last three league games, including the humiliating 9:0 defeat in Paris. They were successful in the league Cup, taking Monaco out of the competition after a penalty shootout. The last time the visitors beat Lyon was two years ago and it’s not likely they’ll be able to do so in this game.

Highlighted Player (Memphis Depay):

Memphis Depay is a Dutch winger who started his professional career at PSV Eindhoven. During the 2014/2015 Eredivisie campaign the pacey footballer was on Manchester United’s radar and on June 12, 2015 the Premier League club confirmed the signing of the Dutchman. Many people expected that he would impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League season, but the former PSV ace played below expectations for the Red Devils, scoring only two goals (one assist) during the season.
After playing only for league games for Man Utd in the 2016/2017 season, Memphis Depay was sold to Olympique Lyon on January 20, 2017. Depay signed a four-and-a-half year deal with les Gones for a fee of around £16 million. The Dutch winger was producing fine performances for Lyon in the 2016/2017 season; he scored five goals for the club, while providing eight assists for his teammates.
Memphis Depay made his senior debut for Netherlands on October 15, 2013 in a 2-0 win over Turkey. Depay did well to win the 2011 European Championship with Netherlands U17 team.
Highlighted Team (Guingamp):

En Avant de Guingamp Cotes-d’Armor are a French football club based in the commune of Guingamp. Guingamp was founded back in 1912 and it has to be noted that a number of top-class footballers played for the club in the past. The likes of Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda, Fabrice Abriel and Vincent Candela all wore Guingamp’s shirt and, no doubt, the club served them as a springboard.
Guingamp returned to the Ligue 1 in 2013 and they have been competing in the French elite division ever since. In 1996 the French team did well to win the Intertoto Cup and book their place in European competitions for the first time ever. However, Italian giants proved to be a big catch for the Ligue 1 club in the first round of the UEFA Cup.
One year later Guingamp made it to the French Cup final, but they were more than unfortunate not to lift the trophy. After playing out a draw with Nice in the regular time, the Stade de Roudourou outfit were eventually beaten by les Aiglones on penalties.
