Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Olympique Lyon will be looking to build on back-to-back wins over Olympique Marseille and Dijon when they host Nantes at their Groupama Stadium on day 8 of the new Ligue 1 campaign. Les Gones did not make a flying start to the season, but they have been showing signs of improvement of late. Lyon are determined to put an end to PSG’s dominance in the French top flight and seeing that Nantes failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Nice in midweek, we predict that Bruno Genesio’s men are going to emerge triumphant in Saturday’s football match. Les Canaris suffered a dip in form and given the fact that les Gones have turned their Groupama Stadium into a real fortress, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the home side. In their last meeting in Lyon Bruno Genesio’s charges defeated Nantes 2-0.

Highlighted Player (Rafael):

Best known for his role at Manchester United when football world got to know him and his twin brother first hand, Rafael Pereira da Silva is a Brazilian football operating mainly at right-back, but can also fill in on the right side of the midfield. Fabio began his career with Fluminense before jining Manchester United in 2007.
He spent eight years competing in the Premier League before he moved to Lyon in 2015. Prior to his move to France, Rafael spent one season playing for Queens Park Rangers in a campaign which turned out to be a disastrous one for the Brazilian.
Still fresh and with plenty of football in front of him at the age of 26, Rafael was given plenty of freedom at Lyon and a license to play his natural game. Signed on a four-year deal, Rafael has gone to become an imposing figure at his new club managing 27 appearances with one goal in a Lyon shirt across competitions.
Highlighted Team (Nantes):

Founded on April 21, 1943 Nantes is a professional football club that compete in French Ligue 1. Les Canaris are considered one of the most famous French clubs and they had a lot of success during the sixties and the seventies. Nantes won their first Ligue 1 title in the 1964/1965 season and 36 years later (2000/2001) they clinched their eighth (last) domestic trophy.
Speaking of the club’s European success, les Canaris did well to make it to the Champions League semis in 1996, but Italian giants Juventus proved to be a big catch for the French outfit. Nantes welcome their rivals at La Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau and the capacity of the stadium is 38.004.
The likes of Vahid Halilhodzic, Adel Selimi, Michel Der Zakarian, Viorel Moldovan, Mario Yepes, Marcel Desailly, Didier Deschamps, Claude Makelele, Christian Karembeu and Dimitri Payet are the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Nantes are well known for their yellow jerseys and that is the reason why they are nicknamed the Canaries (les Canaris).
