Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Olympique Marseille will be aiming to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to Olympique Lyon when they host Strasbourg at their Orange Velodrome. Olympique Marseille are eager to keep their hopes of winning the Ligue 1 title alive and we predict that they will go all guns blazing at Strasbourg in Wednesday’s football match. OM produce much better showings at home than on the travels and the fact that they crushed Guingamp in their last home fixture in the national championship is certainly giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of le Racing. Strasbourg are tough to beat at home, but they often struggle on the travels and given the importance of the match for Dimitri Payet and Co, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Rudi Garcia’s men this time out. In their last meeting at Orange Velodrome Olympique Marseille emerged triumphant.

Highlighted Player (Dimitri Payet):

Dimitri Payet was born in Saint-Pierre, Reunion on 29 March 1987, but he joined Le Havre’s famous youth academy in 1999 and has since enjoyed a meteoric rise. The attacking midfielder started his professional career at Nantes, but top French clubs soon started casting admiring glances his way and he went on to represent Saint Etienne, Lille and Marseille, becoming one of Ligue 1’s leading footballers.
However, it was the move to West Ham that placed Payet on the map as the Frenchman enjoyed a brilliant start to his career in England, making the PFA Player of the Year Shortlist. Some excellent performances in the Premier League persuaded France coach Didier Deschamps to reinstate Payet into his starting line-up and the midfielder paid the coach back with some scintillating displays on international stage.
Excellent with the ball at his feet and very dangerous from set pieces, Payet quickly established himself as one of Europe’s top midfielders, with the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and other top clubs now after his signature.
Highlighted Team (Strasbourg):

Founded back in 1906, Strasbourg is a professional football team that compete in French Ligue 1. Le Racing did remarkably well to win the 1979 Ligue 1 trophy and that is considered the biggest success in the history of the club. Strasbourg won Coupe de France on three occasions (1951, 1966, 2001) and they have three Coupe de la Ligue trophies as well (1964, 1997, 2005). Strasbourg’s main rivals are Metz and the two teams face each other in the Derby de l’Est (The Eastern derby).
Le Racing recorded their biggest victory over Valenciennes (10-0) in the 1937-1938 season, whilst they suffered their biggest loss to Limoges (0-8) in the 1959/1960 season. Paraguayan goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert, who is well known for his free-kick abilities, played for the club from 2000 to 2003, but he failed to score in a league match during his spell with the Stade de la Meinau outfit. Speaking of Stade de la Meinau, Strasbourg’s home ground was opened back in 1914 and the capacity of the venue is 29,320.
