Our football match prediction:
PSG will be aiming to put icing on the cake on a very successful first half of the season when they welcome Caen at their Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening. The star-studded capital club head into the match following a 4-1 win over ten-man Rennes and a win over SMC will see them move one step closer to regaining the domestic trophy. Unai Emery’s men are a real force to be reckoned with at home and predict Neymar and Co. will pick up all three points from Wednesday’s football match. Caen failed to score in previous four away games in the national championship and they are unlikely to spoil PSG’s party at Parc des Princes. Neymar scored a brace in the 4-1 win over les Rouges at Noirs at the weekend and all eyes will be on the Brazilian superstar when PSG face Caen in the “City of Lights”.
Highlighted Player (Edinson Cavani):
Edinson Cavani is a professional footballer who plays for Paris Saint-Germain as a striker. The Uruguayan attacker was born in Salto on 14 February, 1987 and he began his senior career at Danubio. In 2007 he moved to Europe, signing a deal with Serie A outfit Palermo. After scoring 34 goals in 109 league appearances for the Sicilian outfit, he joined Napoli in 2010. You should have in mind that Cavani scored a brace on his Napoli debut against Elfsborg in the Europa League. The Uruguay forward scored 78 goals in 104 Serie A games for the Partenopei and, as a result, big-spending French club PSG decided to sign him in 2013. Cavani scored 19 goals for les Parisiens in the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign, but he was in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shadow during the season and he started a number of games from the bench. In 2011 the PSG attacker won the Copa America trophy with Uruguay as la Celeste hammered Paraguay 3-0 in the game for the title.
Highlighted Team (Caen):
Caen are a French football club that compete in Ligue 1. Caen were founded in 1913 under the name of The Stade Malherbe Caennais and back then Stade de Venoix was the club’s home ground. Nowadays SMC play their home games at Stade Michel d’Ornano and the capacity of the venue is 20.453. Caen finished the 1991/1992 Ligue 1 campaign in fifth position in the standings, 14 points behind champions Marseille and that is considered the club’s best result in the French top flight. In 2005 Caen made it to the Coupe de la Ligue final, but Strasbourg proved to be a big catch for Patrick Remy’s troops. The Stade Michel d’Ornano outfit play their home games in red shirts with blue stripes (vertical), while gray and black are their away colours. Nicolas Seube is the club’s most capped player and it has to be noted that he made no less than 477 appearances for SMC during his spell with the club.
