Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
The first matchup in round 12 of Ligue 1 is a top of the table clash between the unbeaten leaders Paris Saint Germain and 2nd placed Lille. The match will take place at the Parc des Princes in Paris, of course. PSG have, after scoring on average more than four goals per game, scored a couple in each of the last two games. They scored two in a draw with Napoli in the Champions League and two against Marseille in their 11th win of this season. It’s hard to imagine that anyone could beat them in the league this season, having so far won all games while scoring 3.5 goals per game on average. And so far, they have only conceded six goals which is almost one every other game. Lille are playing well, winning five out of their last six matches but haven’t really performed well away from home. And, while their defence is solid, PSG have scored twice as many goals. Lille are likely to provide resistance, but the home side is likely to keep their unbeaten run going.

Highlighted Player (Gianluigi Buffon):

Gianluigi Buffon is a legendary Italian goalkeeper. The 191-cm-tall shoot-stopper was born in Carrara, Italy on 28 January, 1978 and he began his senior career at Parma. After making 169 league appearances for the Gli Emiliani, he joined Juventus in 2001 and he has been playing for the “Old Lady” ever since.
Buffon is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the history of football and he won seven Serie A trophies with Juve. In 2006 he helped Italy clinch the FIFA World Cup trophy as they defeated France on penalties in the title game. He managed to keep no less than five clean sheets at the showpiece tournament in Germany.
Buffon set a number of records and it has to be noted that he is a goalkeeper with most number of clean sheets and penalty kicks saved in the Serie A. His mother Mara Stella was a discus thrower, while his father Adriano was a weightlifter. Gigi’s contract with Juve expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Lille):

Lille have been playing an important role in French football ever since they were founded in 1944. Les Dogues won their first domestic trophy in the 1945/1946 season.
Lille did well to win their second Ligue 1 title in 1954 and 57 years later they lifted their last domestic title. Les Douges finished the 2010/2011 season in top position in the standings, eight points clear of second-placed Olympique Marseille and it has to be noted that Lille attacker Moussa Sow won the Golden Boot (25 goals).
Lille are one of the two teams that managed to win three consecutive Coupe de France trophies (1946, 1947, 1948), but they have yet to clinch the Coupe de la Ligue title. Les Dogues faced PSG in the 2015/2016 Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but les Parisiens proved to be a big catch for Frederic Antonetti’s team in the title game.
Lille play their home matches at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and the capacity of the stadium is 50.186. The venue was opened in August, 2017 and the construction cost €282 million.
