Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Auguste-Delaune II will host Saturday’s football match between Reims and Bordeaux, who face each other on day 8 of the new Ligue 1 campaign. Following back-to-back draws with Nantes and Dijon, Reims suffered a heavy 4-1 loss to PSG at Parc des Princes, but that defeat is anything but unexpected. David Guion’s men aim to put an end to their five-game winless run in the French top flight, but the clash against Bordeaux will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Les Girondins, on the other hand, are eyeing their third consecutive win in the French top flight and seeing that they have been in a much better form of late than Reims, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors. You should bear in mind, though, that Bordeaux are after their first ever win over Reims in the national championship.

Highlighted Player (Ghislain Konan):

Ghislain Konan is an Ivory Coast footballer, who plays for Stade de Reims in Ligue 1. Born in Abidjan on December 27, 1995, the pacey left-back began his senior career at his hometown club ASEC Mimosas in 2015. However, in 2016 Konan moved to Portugal, signing a deal with Vitoria de Guimaraes.
After making 44 appearances for the Portuguese outfit in Primeira Liga, he moved to Stade de Reims in 2017. Konan made his Ligue 1 debut in a 1-0 victory over Nice at Allianz Riviera. Speaking of his international career, the Stade De Reims defender made his Ivory Coast debut in a goalless draw with Mali on October 6, 2017.
The two teams faced each other in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Konan’s preferred foot is left and his contract with Stade de Reims should expire in June, 2022. Ghislain Konan wears No. 3 jersey at Stade de Reims.
Highlighted Team (Bordeaux):

Founded in 1881, Bordeaux are regarded as one of the oldest clubs in France. Les Girondins won their first Ligue 1 trophy in 1950 and 59 years later (2008/2009) they lifted their sixth domestic trophy.
Speaking of the club’s European success, Bordeaux did remarkably well to make it to the Champions League semi-finals in 1985, but despite recording a 2-0 win over star-studded Juventus in the return leg, the French club eventually failed to book their place in the final of the elite competition.
Famous French footballers Alain Giresse and Jean Tigana were part of the team back then and it has to be noted that Giresse is the player who made the most appearances for les Girondins (587). During the nineties Zinedine Zidane, Christophe Dugarry and Bixente Lizarazu played for Bordeaux and, taking everything into account, it is no surprise they are considered one of the most famous French clubs.
Nowadays Les Girondins welcome their rivals at Matmut Atlantique, the stadium which was opened in 2015 and they used to play at Stade Chaban-Delmas in the past.
