Our football match prediction:
Toulouse will be aiming to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Nantes when they welcome Metz at their Stadium Municipal on day 13 of the new Ligue 1 campaign. Les Pitchouns aim to regain their spot in top ten and we predict that they will go all guns blazing at the rock-bottom side on Saturday evening. Toulouse are eyeing a place in European competitions and they need to return to winning ways as soon as possible if they are to keep their hopes of representing France in Europe next season alive. Metz have collected no more than three points from possible 36 in the French top flight so far this term and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp in Saturday’s football match. Les Grenats were outclassed by Lille at home before the international break and we predict that they will suffer yet another heavy defeat in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign.
Highlighted Player (Issa Diop):
After spending two years at Balma SC, Issa Diop joined Toulouse football academy in 2006 and he was making progress year by year. The 194-cm-tall defender made seven appearances for Toulouse B in the 2014/2015 season and he made his Ligue 1 debut with les Pitchouns on November 28, 2015 against Nice. Issa Diop, who was born in Toulouse on January 9, 1997, scored his first ever goal in the French top flight in a 3-0 win over Troyes in December, 2015. Diop is a youth international for France at various levels, but seeing that his father Labysse Diop is of Senegal descent, the Toulouse footballer could represent les Lions de la Teranga at senior level. The Toulouse defender scored two goals for les Pitchouns in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign and he made no less than 30 appearances for the club in the process. Issa Diop has a contract with Toulouse which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference). However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
