Our match prediction:
Liverpool did not let the disappointing defeat at St Mary’s, where they had squandered a two-goal lead, destabilise them, with the Reds showing a great deal of promise in 1-1 draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund. Jurgen Klopp’s charges impressed at the back in midweek when facing one of world’s best attacking sides and such a good performance at Signal-Iduna Park will act as another confidence boost. With Philippe Coutinho playing his best football in months and Roberto Firmino ready to return, we predict the Reds will have no problems winning this game. Stoke City, too, showed improvement of late as they defeated Watford on the road and shared spoils with Swansea at home in their last two games, but failure to hold on to a two-goal lead against the Swans will place pressure on the players ahead of the trip to Anfield, so we doubt they will be a match for revived Liverpool side.
