Our football match prediction:
Atlanta United are enjoying a season to remember. The Five Stripes are leading the chase for top position in the Eastern Conference and, no doubt, coach Tata Martino is doing a great job with the Mercedes-Benz Stadium outfit. Atlanta United did well to crush Colorado Rapids on the road at the weekend and despite the fact that Real Salt Lake are undefeated in previous four league fixtures, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. The Royals have been scoring goals for fun of late, but they will have a big fish to fry in Sunday’s football game against Tata Martino’s troops. In their only meeting in the Major League Soccer Atlanta United recorded a 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Josef Martinez):
Josef Alexander Martinez Mencia started his senior career at Caracas, but he made no more than 36 league appearances for the Venezuelan outfit from 2010 to 2012. Martinez then moved to Europe and the 170-cm tall striker scored 4 goals in 34 appearances for the capital club. In the 2013/2014 season he played for fellow Swiss outfit Thun (on loan) and on June 7, 2014 he signed a contract with Serie A team Torino. In December, 2017 Josef Martinez scored his first ever goal in the Italian top flight in a 2-2 draw with Palermo. The Venezuela international currently plays (on loan) for Atlanta United in MLS and he made his debut for Gerardo Martino’s team against New York Red Bulls. Speaking of his international career, Martinez made his Venezuela debut against El Salvador, coming from the bench after 76 minutes. On November 10, 2016 he scored a hat-trick for La Vinotinto in a thrilling 5-0 victory over Bolivia and it has to be noted that he has four caps (two goals) for Venezuela U20 team.
Highlighted Team (Real Salt Lake):
Real Salt Lake joined Major League Soccer in 2005 as an expansion team of the league and four years later they won their first MLS Cup. The Royals faced star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game at Qwest Field in Seattle and Jason Kreis’ troops defeated David Beckham and Co. on penalties. In 2013 Real Salt Lake made it to the MLS Cup final for the second time in the club’s history, but they were beaten by Sporting Kansas City on penalties this time out. The Royals participated in the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2011 as well, but Monterrey of Mexico eventually won the title. Real Salt Lake footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is white. The likes of Clint Mathis, Jeff Cunningham and Eddie Pope are some of the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Jeff Cunningham scored 19 goals in 32 appearances in the league for the Royals.
