Our football match prediction:
Having put four to ease past Orlando City, Chicago Fire are hoping to extend their winning run against injury-hit Vancouver Whitecaps. It was a beautiful night for David Accam who completed his first career hat-trick, as Chicago Fire star went on to round the impeccable performance against Orlando City with an assist as well in his team’s 4-0 victory. Chicago Fire will hope for another memorable night at Toyota Park that would take their winning streak to five in a row. Chicago are on fire at the moment and are only waiting for Toronto FC to slip up in order to grab the leading place in the Eastern Conference. Injuries have been a massive problem for Vancouver Whitecaps, who travel to Chicago in the worst moment possible. The total of eight first-team members are stuck in the treatment room and with Gold Cup looming, the Canadian side could be left without Alphonso Davies, Marcel de Jong and Russel Teibert who are all expecting a national team call-up. Squad depth remains a burning issue and is likely to present the Whitecaps with a proper challenge in Chicago.
Highlighted Player (Bastian Schweinsteiger):
After making a name for himself at Bayern Munich, Bastian Schweinsteiger moved to Manchester United in 2015 for a fee of €9 million. The German midfielder won eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich, but he has yet to win the Premier League trophy with Manchester United. However, winning the 2014 World Cup trophy with Germany is considered Bastian’s biggest success and it is well known that he won the bronze medal with die Manschaft at the 2006 and the 2010 World Cup finals. Schweinsteiger was born on 1 August, 1984 and he scored 45 goals in 342 appearances for Bayern Munich. The German international, though, failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign with Manchester United as he scored no more than one goal in 18 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit. Bastian Schweinsteiger netted once for Germany at the Euro 2016 finals and later in July he married Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic.
Highlighted Team (Vancouver Whitecaps):
Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs. However, star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy proved to be a big catch for the Whitecaps in the knockout round. Vancouver, though, did remarkably well to win the Canadian Championship in 2015, with the team beating Montreal Impact in the title game. In 2016 they made it to the final of the tournament as well, but Toronto FC eventually won the trophy. The Whitecaps are owned by Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo, Jeff Mallett and Steve Steve Nash, the former NBA star, and they play their home matches at BC Place. Speaking of MLS games, the capacity of the venue is 22.120 and you should know that the stadium was opened back in 1983. The Caps wear white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue.
