Our football match prediction:
Colorado Rapids desperately needed a win against Houston Dynamo at the weekend and they managed to get one. Colorado managed to put an end to their nine-game winless run in MLS and, no doubt, the hard-fought victory gave them a confidence boost. Pablo Mastroeni’s charges are eager to move away from the rock bottom and they are likely to leave their hearts on the field in Sunday’s football match against New York City. Patrick Vieira’s men suffered a 1-0 loss to Portland Timbers at the weekend, but it has to be noted that key attacker David Villa missed the match with injury. However, the injury is not considered serious and the Spanish superstar could play some part in Sunday’s football match against Colorado Rapids. A close encounter appears on the cards and we predict that the two teams are going to share the spoils at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Highligted Player (Tim Howard):
Tim Howard is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the history of USA national football team. Howard is well known for his spell with English giants Manchester United. The experienced shoot-stopper played for the Red Devils from 2003 to 2007 and he spent the 2006/2007 season on loan at Everton. At the end of the season he signed a permanent deal with the Goodison Park outfit and it has to be noted that he made no less than 354 league appearances for the Toffees. During the 2011/2012 Premier League campaign he scored his first and only goal for Everton as he found the net in a 2-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers. Thanks to the goal against Bolton he became the fourth goalkeeper to score a Premier League game. In 2016 he decided to return to USA, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Colorado Rapids. Howard conceded 20 goals in 19 appearances for the Rapids in the 2016 MLS season and he managed to keep eight clean sheets. It is well known that the USA goalkeeper won the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup with the Yanks.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls. Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals. New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue. Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
