Our prediction for this MLS match:
Columbus Crew will be looking to keep their 100% record at the MLS is back tournament intact when they face Minnesota United in the last 16. Columbus defeated the likes of Cincinnati, New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United in the group stages, with the team keeping a clean sheet in each of their three group games. The Crew are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in Wednesday’s showdown against, but, no doubt, they will have opportunities to score on the break.
The Loons, on the other hand, shared the spoils with Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, while beating Sporting Kansas City in Group D. Minnesota United did well to beat Columbus Crew in their last meeting in MLS, but given Columbus’ current form, we are not tempted to put our money on the nominal visitors. The likes of Vito Wormgoor (broken ankle) and Youness Mokhtar (muscle strain) are likely to miss the game with injury for Columbus.
