Our football match prediction:
Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium will host Saturday’s football match between DC United and New York City. DC United recorded their first win of the season at the weekend, with the team beating Philadelphia Union at home and that certainly gave them a confidence boost. The capital club aim to build on the triumph, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the clash against New York City. Patrick Vieira’s men recorded a 2-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes in their last league match, with England starlet Jack Harrison scoring his first goal of the season. Spanish veteran David Villa failed to find the net against SJ, but he is likely to lead the attack for the visitors against DC United. Andre Pirlo is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up and seeing that DC United have been struggling at the back this season, we predict that the visitors will emerge triumphant in Saturday’s clash.
Highligted Player (Maxim Tissot):
Maxim Tissot is a product of the Montreal Impact youth school. Tissot, though, signed his first professional contract with Trois-Rivieres Attak of Canada and he made 14 appearances for the club. On February 26, 2013 the Canadian footballer returned to Montreal Impact and he made his debut for the Saputo Stadium outfit on April 14, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew. The left back substituted Italian ace Marco Di Vaio in the dying minutes of the match. Maxim Tissot played for the likes of Montreal and Otawa Fury in the past as well and on February 24, 2017 he signed a contract with D.C. United. Speaking of his international career, Tissot received his first ever call up for the Canada national team on November 6, 2014 for a friendly game against Panama. However, he made his Canada debut in January, 2016 against Iceland. It has to be noted that the D.C. United defender was born in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on April 13, 1992.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls. Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals. New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue. Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
