Our football match prediction:
FC Dallas are enjoying a four-match winning streak in the MLS and are without a single defeat since early June. Vancouver Whitecaps, on the other side, have had their ups and downs but will be a big test for the Western Conference leaders. Halfway through the season and with two games in hand over most of their rivals, FC Dallas are leading the way. The Texas-based club have a one-point lead in front of Sporting Kansas City and will most certainly look to preserve it as they prepare to welcome Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday. FC Dallas are coming off from a morale-boosting come-from-behind 2-1 win over Montreal Impact and will be extremely motivated. A brace from Colman neutralized Salazar’s first-half opener and FC Dallas will be hoping for a similar result against Whitecaps. Vancouver’s two-match winning streak came to an end last week as Whitecaps were dealt with a 2-1 blow by Portland Timbers. Ebobisse opened the scorings early on but Jacobson leveled the score in the dying moments of the first half to present hosts with a fighting chance they still failed to use since Blanco pulled off a 49th-minute stunner to stop the home side in their tracks. Vancounver cannot afford to lose any more points although the schedule still works in their favour.
Highlighted Player (Jesse Gonzalez):
Jesse Gonzalez is a Mexican footballer who was born on May 25, 1995 in Edenton, North Carolina, United States of America. Gonzalez played for FC Dallas during his youth career and the goalkeeper made 17 league appearances for the senior team as well. In 2015 he was loaned to Pittsburg Riverhounds and it has to be noted that he played only one game for the club. After ending his loan spell with Pittsburg he returned to FC Dallas, but he was in Chris Seitz’s shadow during the 2016 season. Jesse Gonzalez has seven caps for Mexico U20 team and he made one appearance for Mexico U23 team as well. Jess Gonzalez, who grew up in Texas, wears number 1 on his shirt. Coach Jose Antonio Radilla helped Gonzalez make great progress during his youth career. The Mexican shoot-stopper has a deal with Dallas FC which expires on December 31, 2017.
Highlighted Team (Vancouver Whitecaps):
Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs. However, star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy proved to be a big catch for the Whitecaps in the knockout round. Vancouver, though, did remarkably well to win the Canadian Championship in 2015, with the team beating Montreal Impact in the title game. In 2016 they made it to the final of the tournament as well, but Toronto FC eventually won the trophy. The Whitecaps are owned by Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo, Jeff Mallett and Steve Steve Nash, the former NBA star, and they play their home matches at BC Place. Speaking of MLS games, the capacity of the venue is 22.120 and you should know that the stadium was opened back in 1983. The Caps wear white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue.
