Our football match prediction:
Following back-to-back victories over the likes of Seattle Sounders and Columbus Crew, Houston Dynamo suffered a 4-2 defeat to Portland Timbers in their last league match. The Dynamo aim to keep their 100% record at home intact and we predict that the hosts will adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s football game against New York. The Red Bulls have been having their ups and downs at the start of the season and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the match against Houston. Bradley Wright-Phillips has netted one goal this season, but he is definitely capable of making life difficult for the opposition defenders. Speaking of the Dynamo, a man to watch in the home team will be Erick Torres, who has already scored three goals in the 2017 MLS campaign. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment and share of spoils appears on the cards.
Highligted Player (Tyler Deric):
Tyler Deric is a product of Houston Dynamo football academy. On February 27, 2009 the USA goalkeeper signed a professional development deal with the Dynamo and he made his senior debut for the club on October 16, 2010. The shoot-stopper, who was born on August 30, 1988 played for the likes of Austin Aztex, San Antonio Scorpions and Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in the past as well, but he has yet to earn his first call-up for USA national soccer team. Speaking of his personal life, it has to be noted that Tyler Deric and his teammate Warren Creavelle were arrested in 2012 following a row with a police officer. The 191-cm-tall goalkeeper conceded six goals in 10 appearances for Houston Dynamo in the 2016 MLS campaign and he did well to keep six clean sheets. During his youth career Tyler played for North Carolina Tar Heels, but, as previously mentioned, Houston Dynamo coaches helped him improve his goalkeeping skills.
Highlighted Team (New York Red Bulls):
New York Red Bulls are the first club from New York City to join Major League Soccer. In 2006 the club was sold to Red Bull GmbH and, as a result, they are nicknamed the Red Bulls. New York welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena and the team’s home colours are white and red. On the other hand, the Red Bulls wear dark blue shirts and yellow shorts on the road. In 2008 New York Red Bulls made it to the MLS Cup final, but they were not capable of matching Columbus Crew (1-3) in the Home Depot Center clash. A number of top-class footballers were part of the team in the past, but former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry is the synonym of the club. Henry scored 51 goals in 122 league games for New York Red Bulls from 2010 to 2014 and it has to be noted that he scored his first MLS hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Montreal Impact on March 31, 2012. The likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Lothar Matthaus, Roberto Donadoni, Rafael Marquez, Juninho and Tim Cahill played for the club in the past as well.
