Our football match prediction:
After suffering a 1-0 loss to Columbus Crew at the weekend, Houston Dynamo will be aiming to return to winning ways in MLS when they host Real Salt Lake at their BBVA Compass Stadium. Houston need to pick up all three points from Sunday’s football match if they are to keep their hopes of booking their place in the play-offs alive and we predict that they will fight tooth and nail against Real Salt Lake. However, considering that the hosts are on a four-game losing run in the Major League Soccer, we do not believe that home win should be considered. The Royals, on the other hand, aim to retain their spot in the play-offs and given Houston’s poor form, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the away team. In their last meeting in MLS Real Salt Lake recorded a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo.
Highlighted Player (Tyler Deric):
Tyler Deric is a product of Houston Dynamo football academy. On February 27, 2009 the USA goalkeeper signed a professional development deal with the Dynamo and he made his senior debut for the club on October 16, 2010. The shoot-stopper, who was born on August 30, 1988 played for the likes of Austin Aztex, San Antonio Scorpions and Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in the past as well, but he has yet to earn his first call-up for USA national soccer team. Speaking of his personal life, it has to be noted that Tyler Deric and his teammate Warren Creavelle were arrested in 2012 following a row with a police officer. The 191-cm-tall goalkeeper conceded six goals in 10 appearances for Houston Dynamo in the 2016 MLS campaign and he did well to keep six clean sheets. During his youth career Tyler played for North Carolina Tar Heels, but, as previously mentioned, Houston Dynamo coaches helped him improve his goalkeeping skills.
Highlighted Team (Real Salt Lake):
Real Salt Lake joined Major League Soccer in 2005 as an expansion team of the league and four years later they won their first MLS Cup. The Royals faced star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game at Qwest Field in Seattle and Jason Kreis’ troops defeated David Beckham and Co. on penalties. In 2013 Real Salt Lake made it to the MLS Cup final for the second time in the club’s history, but they were beaten by Sporting Kansas City on penalties this time out. The Royals participated in the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2011 as well, but Monterrey of Mexico eventually won the title. Real Salt Lake footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is white. The likes of Clint Mathis, Jeff Cunningham and Eddie Pope are some of the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Jeff Cunningham scored 19 goals in 32 appearances in the league for the Royals.
