Our football match prediction:
Seattle Sounders are on a quest to defend their MLS Cup trophy in the 2017 season. The reigning champions take on Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium in the opening match of the season, but their recent form is not giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the trip to Texas. Seattle suffered back-to-back defeats to the likes of Atlanta United and Columbus Crew in last two friendly games and that is the main reason why we are not tempted to put our money on the visitors. Houston, on the other hand, head into Sunday’s football match following victories over New York City and Colorado Rapids and, no doubt, the hosts are high on confidence ahead of the visit of the Sounders. In their last meeting at BBVA Compass Stadium the Dynamo emerged triumphant and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Tyler Deric):
Tyler Deric is a product of Houston Dynamo football academy. On February 27, 2009 the USA goalkeeper signed a professional development deal with the Dynamo and he made his senior debut for the club on October 16, 2010. The shoot-stopper, who was born on August 30, 1988 played for the likes of Austin Aztex, San Antonio Scorpions and Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in the past as well, but he has yet to earn his first call-up for USA national soccer team. Speaking of his personal life, it has to be noted that Tyler Deric and his teammate Warren Creavelle were arrested in 2012 following a row with a police officer. The 191-cm-tall goalkeeper conceded six goals in 10 appearances for Houston Dynamo in the 2016 MLS campaign and he did well to keep six clean sheets. During his youth career Tyler played for North Carolina Tar Heels, but, as previously mentioned, Houston Dynamo coaches helped him improve his goalkeeping skills.
Highlighted Team (Seattle Sounders):
Seattle Sounders are an American soccer club that compete in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Sounders are owned by the likes of Joe Roth, Paul Allen, Drew Carey and Adrian Hanauer and they play their home games at CenturyLink Field. The club won the 2016 MLS Cup, with the team beating Toronto FC on penalties in the trophy game at BMO Field. Swiss goalkeeper Stefan Frei won the MVP honour after pulling off several brilliant saves in the 2016 MLS Cup final. Winning of the MLS Cup is undisputedly the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that the Sounders clinched the Supporters’ Shield trophy in 2014. Seattle hold rivalry with Portland Timbers, but Vancouver Whitecaps are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well. Experienced attacker Clint Dempsey is undisputedly the club’s most significant star and he has been playing for the CenturyLink Field outfit since 2014. He scored eight goals in the league in the 2016 season and, no doubt, he helped the Sounders win their first ever MLS Cup.
