Our prediction for this MLS match:
Despite being regarded as underdogs in Saturday’s football match against Chicago Fire, Los Angeles Galaxy did well to beat Veljko Paunovic’s men on the road. Siegfrid Schmidt’s men sit in second place in the Western Conference and, no doubt, they made a promising start to the season. Los Angeles Galaxy aim to keep on improving their game, but they will have a big fish to fry against Atlanta United. Tata Martino’s men quickly bounced back from a heavy 4-0 loss to Houston Dynamo and they have been scoring goals for fun at the start of the 2018 MLS campaign. The Five Stripes are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against LA Galaxy and we predict that fans are going to see a real football festival at Stubhub Center. Taking everything into account, there is every chance the two teams will play out a high-scoring draw this weekend.
Highlighted Player (Ashley Cole):
After ending his spell with Arsenal Ashley Cole joined fellow capital club Chelsea in 2006. Arsenal fans were angry with the England full back, who “betrayed” the Gunners and signed a contract with their fierce local rivals. Ashley Cole, though, was hungry for trophies and in 2011/2012 he won the Champions League title with the Blues.
He won the 2009/2010 Premier League trophy with the Stamford Bridge outfit as well and he played for Chelsea in a 2-1 win over Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final. Ashley Cole was part of Roma from 2014 to 2016 and in the 2016 January transfer window he signed a deal with MLS club LA Galaxy. The left-footed defender made 29 appearances for Galaxy last season, scoring only one goal in the process.
The experience footballer, who was born on December 20, 1980 in London, made his England debut against Albania in March, 2001. Speaking of his individual awards, Ashley Cole was named England Player of the Year in 2010.
Highlighted Team (Atlanta United):
Atlanta United is a Major League Soccer club and they were founded on April 16, 2014. They are based in Atlanta, Georgia and they will make their debut in MLS in 2017. Arthur Blank is the club’s owner and Bobby Dodd Stadium is Atlanta United’s home ground.
Arthur Blank is an American businessman, who is well known for his ownership of the NFL club Atlanta Falcons. The venue was opened on September 27, 1913 and its’ current capacity is 60.316. However, it has to be noted that the team will play first eight home games of the 2017 season at Bobby Dodd Stadium, while the latter nine fixtures will be hosted by Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Speaking of the club’s colors, Atlanta United footballers wear black and red shirts and black shorts with a little bit of gold mixed in. Gerardo Martino, who used to be in charge of La Liga side Barcelona in the past, will coach Atlanta United in the 2017 MLS season. Tata Martino won the Spanish Super Cup with Barca, while making it to the Copa America final with Argentina on two occasions (2015, 2016).
