Our football match prediction:
Buoyed by a 3-2 win over New York Red Bulls, New York City face Los Angeles Galaxy at Stubhub Center. Patrick Vieira’s men came from behind to beat their local rivals at the weekend, with David Villa producing probably his best performances of the season. “El Guaje” scored a hat-trick in the local derby and all eyes will be on the Spanish veteran when New York City take on Los Angeles Galaxy in Sunday’s football game. The visitors aim to regain their spot in top two in the Eastern Conference and we predict that the visitors will adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s football game. LA Galaxy, on the other hand, are on a seven-game winless run in the league and seeing that they have been struggling at the back of late, we do not believe that the hosts are capable of shocking Patrick Vieira’s troops.
Highlighted Player (Ashley Cole):
After ending his spell with Arsenal Ashley Cole joined fellow capital club Chelsea in 2006. Arsenal fans were angry with the England full back, who “betrayed” the Gunners and signed a contract with their fierce local rivals. Ashley Cole, though, was hungry for trophies and in 2011/2012 he won the Champions League title with the Blues. He won the 2009/2010 Premier League trophy with the Stamford Bridge outfit as well and he played for Chelsea in a 2-1 win over Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final. Ashley Cole was part of Roma from 2014 to 2016 and in the 2016 January transfer window he signed a deal with MLS club LA Galaxy. The left-footed defender made 29 appearances for Galaxy last season, scoring only one goal in the process. The experience footballer, who was born on December 20, 1980 in London, made his England debut against Albania in March, 2001. Speaking of his individual awards, Ashley Cole was named England Player of the Year in 2010.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls. Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals. New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue. Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
