Our football match prediction:
Minnesota United have yet to adapt to the new surroundings. The 2017 MLS campaign has been a mixed bag for the TCF Bank Stadium outfit so far this season and it remains to be seen if they are capable of recording their second win of the season when they take face Colorado Rapids. The newcomers conceded 2+ goals in each of their previous seven league games this term and they are unlikely to keep a clean sheet in Monday’s football match. Colorado Rapids aim to put an end to their four-match winless run in the Major League Soccer and, taking everything into account, a lively contest appears on the horizon. Minnesota United impressed in a 4-2 win over Real Salt Lake at home earlier in April and that is the main reason why we predict the hosts will pick up all three points from the game.
Highlighted Player (Johan Venegas):
Johan Venegas is a winger who plays for both Minnesota United and Costa Rica national football team. The pacey winger, who was born on November 27, 1988, began his senior career at Santos and he made no less than 58 league appearances for the Costa Rican club from 2009 to 2012. After ending his spell with Santos, he joined fellow Primera Division side Puntarenas and in 2013 he signed a contract with Alajuelense. During his last season at the club he was on Montreal Impact’s radar and in December, 2016 he moved to MLS, joining Minnesota United. Speaking of his international career Johan Venegas made his Costa Rica debut in September, 2015 in a Copa Centroamericana game against Nicaragua. He marked his debut with a goal, scoring Costa Rica’s 100th goal in the history of the tournament. Johan Venegas, who is capable of playing as a left midfielder and a secondary striker as well, has a contract with Minnesota which expires on a Decembar, 31 2017.
Highlighted Team (Colorado Rapids):
Colorado Rapids are a Major League Soccer club and they compete in the USA professional soccer league as a member of the Western Conference. Colorado began their play in MLS back in 1996 and 14 years later they managed to win the MLS Cup trophy. The Rapids recorded a 2-1 win over FC Dallas in the final of the tournament, with George John scoring the winner for Gary Smith’s team in the extra time. Colorado made it to the MLS Cup final in 1997 as well, but D.C. United proved to be a big catch for the club in the title game. The Rapids play their home games at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and the venue has been Colorado’s home ground since 2007. It has to be noted that the likes of Tim Howard, Carlos Valderama, Claudio Lopez and Jermaine Jones were all part of the club in the past. Colorado’s colours are red, sky blue and white, but they were yellow shirts and blue shorts when playing on the travels.
