Our football match prediction:
Minnesota United and New York Red Bulls face each other at TFC Bank Stadium on Saturday evening. The Loons do not seem to be on top of their game at the moment, but they are tough to beat at home and the newcomers are definitely capable of grabbing something from the football game against the Red Bulls. The 2017 MLS campaign has been a mixed bag for the Metros and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the TFC Bank Stadium clash. The two teams meet for the first time ever in the Major League Soccer and we predict that they are going to play out a draw in Saturday’s match. Kemal Lawrence is on international duty with Jamaica, but top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips is high on confidence and he is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Anyhow, share of spoils appears on the horizon.
Highligted Player (Johan Venegas):
Johan Venegas is a winger who plays for both Minnesota United and Costa Rica national football team. The pacey winger, who was born on November 27, 1988, began his senior career at Santos and he made no less than 58 league appearances for the Costa Rican club from 2009 to 2012. After ending his spell with Santos, he joined fellow Primera Division side Puntarenas and in 2013 he signed a contract with Alajuelense. During his last season at the club he was on Montreal Impact’s radar and in December, 2016 he moved to MLS, joining Minnesota United. Speaking of his international career Johan Venegas made his Costa Rica debut in September, 2015 in a Copa Centroamericana game against Nicaragua. He marked his debut with a goal, scoring Costa Rica’s 100th goal in the history of the tournament. Johan Venegas, who is capable of playing as a left midfielder and a secondary striker as well, has a contract with Minnesota which expires on a Decembar, 31 2017.
Highlighted Team (New York Red Bulls):
New York Red Bulls are the first club from New York City to join Major League Soccer. In 2006 the club was sold to Red Bull GmbH and, as a result, they are nicknamed the Red Bulls. New York welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena and the team’s home colours are white and red. On the other hand, the Red Bulls wear dark blue shirts and yellow shorts on the road. In 2008 New York Red Bulls made it to the MLS Cup final, but they were not capable of matching Columbus Crew (1-3) in the Home Depot Center clash. A number of top-class footballers were part of the team in the past, but former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry is the synonym of the club. Henry scored 51 goals in 122 league games for New York Red Bulls from 2010 to 2014 and it has to be noted that he scored his first MLS hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Montreal Impact on March 31, 2012. The likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Lothar Matthaus, Roberto Donadoni, Rafael Marquez, Juninho and Tim Cahill played for the club in the past as well.
