Our football match prediction:
Minnesota United will be aiming to build on a thrilling 4-0 win over DC United when they welcome Seattle Sounders at their TCF Bank Stadium. The newcomers managed to put an end to their fiva-game winless run in the league and they regained a much-needed confidence. Christian Ramirez scored his 11th goal of the season at the weekend and the team’s top scorer is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line in Sunday’s football match. The title holders, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Los Angeles Galaxy at the weekend on Clint Dempsey’s return to the starting line-up. The reigning champions are on a six-game unbeaten run in MLS and we predict that they are going to return to winning ways this weekend. Minnesota United did well to roll over out-of-form DC United, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Sunday’s football match against Seattle Sounders.
Highligted Player (Johan Venegas):
Johan Venegas is a winger who plays for both Minnesota United and Costa Rica national football team. After ending his spell with Santos, he joined fellow Primera Division side Puntarenas and in 2013 he signed a contract with Alajuelense. During his last season at the club he was on Montreal Impact’s radar and in December, 2016 he moved to MLS, joining Minnesota United. Speaking of his international career Johan Venegas made his Costa Rica debut in September, 2015 in a Copa Centroamericana game against Nicaragua. He marked his debut with a goal, scoring Costa Rica’s 100th goal in the history of the tournament. Johan Venegas, who is capable of playing as a left midfielder and a secondary striker as well, has a contract with Minnesota which expires on a Decembar, 31 2017.
Highlighted Team (Seattle Sounders):
Seattle Sounders are an American soccer club that compete in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Sounders are owned by the likes of Joe Roth, Paul Allen, Drew Carey and Adrian Hanauer and they play their home games at CenturyLink Field. The club won the 2016 MLS Cup, with the team beating Toronto FC on penalties in the trophy game at BMO Field. Swiss goalkeeper Stefan Frei won the MVP honour after pulling off several brilliant saves in the 2016 MLS Cup final. Winning of the MLS Cup is undisputedly the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that the Sounders clinched the Supporters’ Shield trophy in 2014. Seattle hold rivalry with Portland Timbers, but Vancouver Whitecaps are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well. Experienced attacker Clint Dempsey is undisputedly the club’s most significant star and he has been playing for the CenturyLink Field outfit since 2014. He scored eight goals in the league in the 2016 season and, no doubt, he helped the Sounders win their first ever MLS Cup.
