Our prediction for this MLS match:
New York City play host to Cincinnati at their Yankee Stadium on Sunday morning. The Pigeons have been in a fine form of late, with the team recording three wins, while sharing the spoils with DC United in the previous four league fixtures. New York City are eyeing their third consecutive clean sheet in the Major League Soccer, and they are surely capable of preventing Cincinnati attackers from scoring.
Even though Ibeagha and Zelalem remain in the recovery room for the hosts, we are tempted to put our money on the Pigeons, who aim to retain their spot in top seven. FC Cincinnati, on the other hand, have been struggling in front of goal of late, with the team failing to find the net in the previous five league fixtures. The visitors experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss at Columbus, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Alexandru Mitrita):
Italian Serie A is a Romanian footballer who is well known for his height. The 199-cm attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a winger as well, was born in Craiova on February 8, 1995 and he started his youth career at Turnu Severin.
In 2012 he moved to fellow Romanian club Viitorul Constanta and in 2015 he signed a deal with Italian side Pescara. After scoring 2 goals in 34 appearances for the Dolphins, he returned to Romania, signing a contract with Universitatea Craiova. Alexandru Mitrita was on New York City’s radar during the 2017/2018 season and seeing that he scored 18 goals in the national championship, the chiefs of the MLS club decided to sign him in 2019.
The Romanian footballer made his MLS soccer debut in a 2-2 draw with Orlando City, but he failed to find the net. Alexandru Mitrita’s preferred foot is right, but he often plays as a left winger.
Highlighted Team (FC Cincinnati):
FC Cincinnati will make their MLS debut in the 2019 season. Based in Ohio, the Orange and Blue are a team who is expected to play their home games at West End Stadium. However, seeing that the West End Stadium is still under construction, FC Cincinnati will welcome their rivals at Nippert Stadium at the start of the season.
The team’s home colors are orange and blue, whilst they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. Justin Hoyte, who used to play for the likes of Arsenal and Middlesbrough in the Premier League is considered one of the team’s most famous footballers.
The Orange and Blue will make their MLS debut against Seattle Sounders, whilst they will play their first ever home game in the league against Portland Timbers. It has to be noted that FC Cincinnati has five supporters groups: Die Innestadt, The Legion, The Pride, Queen City and The Briogaid.
