Our football match prediction:
New York City did not kick off their MLS campaign in style, with the team suffering a 1-0 loss to Orlando City in Florida, but they did well to bounce back from the defeat. Patrick Vieira’s troops crushed FC United 4-0 in their first home fixture of the season, with experienced attacker David Villa scoring a brace for the Pigeons. The Spanish striker is eager to add more goals to his account and he will be the man to watch in the home side, alongside legendary Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo. Montreal Impact suffered a 1-0 loss to San Jose Earthquakes in the opening match of the season and they were on the verge of beating title holders Seattle Sounders at the weekend. However, the Sounders scored two late goals in Sunday’s football match and they eventually shared the spoils with the Canadian outfit. Both New York City and Montreal Impact have been impressive in front of goal of late and we predict that both teams will find the net in Saturday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Pirlo):
Over the years Andrea Pirlo has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. “The Architect” played for Milan from 2001 to 2011 and won two Serie A (2003/2004, 2010/2011) trophies with the Rossoneri during his spell at Stadio San Siro. Pirlo clinched two Champions League titles with Milan as well (2002/2003, 2006/2007), but in 2011 Juventus signed him on a free contract until 2014. The Italian superstar, who is well known for his brilliant passes, won four Serie A titles with the Bianconeri and, speaking of his international career, he helped Italy beat France in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final in Germany. On July 6, 2015 Andrea Pirlo completed a move to MLS club New York City and he has been playing for the Pigeons ever since. The Italian veteran scored one goal, while providing six assists for his teammates in the 2016 MLS campaign. Andrea Pirlo has always been praised for his technique, touch, balance and dribbling ability and, no doubt, he will be remembered as one of the most significant footballers of the 21st century.
Highlighted Team (Montreal Impact):
Montreal Impact are a Canadian soccer team, but they compete in Major League Soccer. The Impact are a member of the Eastern Conference and they have been participating in the major league since 2012. Montreal welcome their opponents at Saputo Stadium and the capacity of the club’s home ground is 20.801. The construction of the stadium cost CA$17 million and the venue was opened on May 18, 2008. The Saputo family invested $7.5 million in the construction of the stadium and, as a result, the venue was named Saputo Stadium. Montreal Impact did remarkably well to make it to the CONCACAF Champions League final in the 2014/2015 season, but Mexican team America proved to be a big catch for the Canadian outfit in the title game. Speaking of the Canadian championship, the Impact won their third domestic trophy in 2014, with the team beating Toronto FC in the final of the tournament. Montreal Impact play their home matches in blue and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kit is white.
