Our football match prediction:
New York City did not make a flying start to the season, but they have been in a thrilling form in the Major League Soccer of late. David Villa can’t stop scoring and, as a result, he was recalled to the Spain national football team. Patrick Vieira’s team have been scoring goals for fun in the MLS this season and we predict that they are going to record yet another home win when they take on Portland Timbers at their Yankee Stadium. Portland have been in a fine form in recent weeks as well and they suffered only one loss in previous seven league fixtures. Seattle did well to hold reigning champions Seattle Sounders to a 1-1 draw at CenturyLink Field in their last league game, but they face an uphill task in Saturday’s football game against New York City. It is well known that Patrick Vieira’s charges are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we predict that they will have a reason for celebration this weekend.
Highlighted Player (Pirlo):
Over the years Andrea Pirlo has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. “The Architect” played for Milan from 2001 to 2011 and won two Serie A (2003/2004, 2010/2011) trophies with the Rossoneri during his spell at Stadio San Siro. Pirlo clinched two Champions League titles with Milan as well (2002/2003, 2006/2007), but in 2011 Juventus signed him on a free contract until 2014. The Italian superstar, who is well known for his brilliant passes, won four Serie A titles with the Bianconeri and, speaking of his international career, he helped Italy beat France in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final in Germany. On July 6, 2015 Andrea Pirlo completed a move to MLS club New York City and he has been playing for the Pigeons ever since. The Italian veteran scored one goal, while providing six assists for his teammates in the 2016 MLS campaign. Andrea Pirlo has always been praised for his technique, touch, balance and dribbling ability and, no doubt, he will be remembered as one of the most significant footballers of the 21st century.
Highlighted Team (Portland Timbers):
Founded in 2009, Portland Timbers are a soccer club based in Portland, Oregon. The Timbers are well known for their green kit and their secondary colours are red and black. Portland welcome their opponents at Providence Park and the capacity of their home ground is 21.144. The club hold a long-running rivalry with Seattle Sounders as the two clubs used to face each other in the North American Soccer League. In 2015 Portland Timbers did remarkably well to win the MLS Cup and that is considered the club’s biggest success. The Timbers defeated Columbus Crew in the final of the tournament and it has to be noted that the title game was hosted by Mapfre Stadium (Columbus). Former Premier League footballer Liam Ridgewell played for Portland in the 2015 MLS Cup final against Columbus Crew. Speaking of the club’s supporters, you should have in mind that the Timbers sold out almost every home game in the MLS. Portland’s main supporters group is the Timbers Army.
