Our prediction for this MLS match:
Over the years New York Red Bulls have established themselves as one of the best teams in the Major League Soccer. The Red Bulls made a fine start to the 2018 MLS campaign and they are widely expected to book their place in the play-offs. The team’s main goal is to finish the season in top two in the Eastern Conference, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to meet the goal. Columbus Crew, on the other hand, did well to make amends for back-to-back defeats to the likes of LA Galaxy and New York City, with the team beating Orlando City in front of home fans at the weekend. The Crew are eyeing a place in top two as well, but seeing that Columbus and New York RB seem to be evenly matched at the moment, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw.
Highlighted Player (Alejandro Romero Gamarra):
Born in Ciudadela, Argentina on January 11, 1995, Alejandro Romero Gamarra is an attacking midfielder who plays for New York Red Bulls. The Argentine footballer, commonly known as Kaku, began his youth career at Huracan and he continued playing for el Globo at senior level.
After scoring nine goals in 94 appearances for the club, Kaku joined New York Red Bulls in the winter of 2018. Alejandro Romero Gamarra made his MLS debut for the Metros in a 2-0 win over Olimpia in the CONCACAF Champions League. Gamarra scored his first goal for New York Red Bulls in a 3-1 triumph over Club Tijuana in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Kaku has yet to earn a call-up for Argentina national team, but he made 5 appearances for the U20 team. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he can be used as a winger as well. In the 2013/2014 season he won Copa Argentina with Huracan.
Highlighted Team (Columbus Crew):
Columbus Crew are an American soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio. The Black & Gold participate in the Eastern Conference and in 2008 they won both the conference and the MLS CUP final. Columbus Crew defeated New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup final, with the likes of Moreno, Marshall and Hejduk scoring for the Black & Gold in the title game.
The club welcome their rivals at Mapfre Stadium, the venue which was opened on May, 15 1999. The current capacity of the stadium is 19.968 and it has to be noted that Mapfre Stadium is the first soccer-specific venue ever built for a MLS club.
A number of high-profile players were part of Columbus Crew in the past, but Guillermo Barros Schelotto is the most famous footballer that wore the black and yellow shirt. Schelotto played for Columbus Crew from 2007 to 2010 and during his spell with the Mapfre Stadium outfit the Black & Gold won the aforementioned MLS Cup.
