Our football match prediction:
New York Red Bulls kicked off the new MLS campaign in style, with the team rolling over Portland Timbers in front of home fans in their opener, but they failed to impress in a 1-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake. The Red Bulls obviously produce better performances at home than on the travels, but Sunday’s football match against high-flying Minnesota United will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. The Loons head into the game following back-to-back wins over the likes of Orlando City and Chicago Fire and they are certainly high on confidence ahead of the trip to New Jersey. Bradley Wright-Phillips is still part of Jesse Marsch’s team and all eyes will be on him when the two teams face each other at Red Bull Arena. Taking everything into account, despite the fact that Minnesota United have found their form of late, we predict that the hosts, who crushed Portland Timbers at home earlier in March, are going to pick up all three points from Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Felipe):
Felipe Campanholi Martins is a Brazilian footballer who was born on September 30, 1990 in Engenheiro Beltrao. After playing for the likes of PSTC-Londrina, Atletico Catarinense and Campo Grande during his youth career, he started his senior career at Padova. The Brazilian midfielder appeared in no more than four league matches for the Italian club and in 2009 he moved to Switzerland, signing a deal with FC Winterthur. At the end of the season he joined fellow Swiss Super League club Lugano and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular. In the winter of 2011 Felipe moved to MLS, signing a deal with expansion team Montreal Impact. He scored his first MLS goal in a 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on May 5, 2012 and he has been playing an important role in the team ever since. Felipe has yet to represent Brazil at senior level, but he could play for Canada national team in the future as he applied for permanent residency.
Highlighted Team (Minnesota United):
Based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, Minnesota United are a professional soccer club that will compete in the Western Conference in the Major League Soccer from 2017. The Loons will make their MLS debut against Portland Timbers on March 4, 2017 and, no doubt, they have big ambitions for the forthcoming season. Minnesota United are the sixth team to join MLS from a lower division and they will welcome their rivals at TCF Bank Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 52.525 and it was opened in September, 2009. Bill McGuire is the club’s owner and he is on a quest to turn Minnesota United into a top-table side in the Western Conference. Adrian Heath will be in charge of the club in the 2017 season and it has to be noted that the English tactician used to train the likes of Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Espanyol in the past. You should know that the club was founded on March 25, 2015.
