Our football match prediction:
Orlando City hammered New England Revolution in front of home fans on September 28, but they failed to impress in previous two league games against Dallas (0-0) and Columbus Crew. The Lions are having a season to forget, but it is still early for us to draw the conclusions. Orlando are eight points behind the play-offs berth and Sunday’s football match against Philadelphia could be the turning point for the visitors. Ricardo Kaka failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Columbus Crew at the weekend, but the former Real Madrid ace will be the man to watch in the away team. The U, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a 3-2 loss to Chicago Fire and you should bear in mind that they are eyeing their third consecutive win at home. Philadelphia have been producing fine performances at their Talen Energy Stadium this season and we predict that they are going to grab something from Sunday’s clash against Orlando City. Taking everything into account, share of spoils appears on the cards.
Highligted Player (Haris Medunjanin):
After spending four seasons at AZ Alkmaar, Haris Medunjanin joined Spanish side Valladolid and he appeared in 42 league games for Pucela. The Bosnian midfielder played for the likes of Sparta Rotterdam, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Gaziantepspor in the past as well and in 2014 he returned to Spain, signing a contract with La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna. Medunjanin scored two goals in 24 league appearances for the Galician outfit and in 2016 he joined his former club Maccabi Tel Aviv on a one-and-a-half-year deal. The left-footed footballer, who was born on March 8, 1985 won two European Championship titles with Netherlands U-21 team (2006, 2007), but he decided to represent Bosnian and Herzegovina on senior level. He made his first start for the Balkan Dragons in a 1-0 loss to Portugal in the 2010 FIFA World Cup play-off match. Haris Medunjanin currently plays for Philadelphia Union and his contract with the MLS club expires on January 31, 2017.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place). Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
