Our football match prediction:
Portland Timbers impressed in the opening match of the season, with the team rolling over Minnesota United (5-1) at their Providence Park. Fanendo Adi scored a brace in the victory over Adrian Heath’s troops. The Nigerian attacker failed to impress in Monday’s football game against ten-man LA Galaxy, but Diego Chara helped the team pick up all three points from the match. The Timbers aim to keep their 100% record intact and we predict that they will adopt an attack-minded approach against Houston Dynamo. Wilmer Cabrera’s team were impressive in warm-up games and they have been producing scintillating displays at the start of the new MLS campaign. Following a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders in their opener, Houston Dynamo outplayed Columbus Crew in their second consecutive home fixture, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Sunday’s game against Portland Timbers and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a certain value in betting on the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Vytautas Andriuskevicius):
Vytautas Andriuskevicius is a Lithuania international who plays for Portland Timbers as a left back. Andriuskevicius started his senior career at FBK Kaunas, but he made no more than 17 league appearances for the Lithuanian club from 2007 to 2010. In 2010 he joined Polish outfit Lechia Gdansk and he spent three seasons at Stadion Energa Gdansk. After ending his spell with Lechia, Vytautas Andriuskevicius moved to Sweden, signing a deal with Djurgardens. He played 31 league games for the Iron Stoves and at the end of the 2013/2014 season he joined Cambuur. After spending two seasons in the Dutch club, the Lithuanian footballer signed for Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers on July 14, 2016. Andriuskevicius is a full back who side position is centre back and it has to be noted that he was born on October 8, 1990 in Alytus, Lithuania. The 188-cm tall defender made his Lithuania debut on August 10, 2011 in a friendly against Armenia.
Highlighted Team (Houston Dynamo):
Houston Dynamo are an American professional soccer club owned by Jake Silverstein, Gabriel Brener, Ben Guull and Oscar De La Hoya, who is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. BBVA Compass Stadium is Dynamo’s home ground and the capacity of the venue is 22.039. Houston Dynamo won back-to-back MLS CUP trophies (2006, 2007), with the team beating New England Revolution in each of the two title games. It has to be noted that Houston finished the 2011 and the 2012 seasons as runners-up. In 2008 the Dynamo made it to the North American SuperLiga final, but this time out their old rivals New England Revolution proved to be a big catch for the BBVA Compass Stadium outfit. FC Dallas are regarded as the club’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Texas derby. Houston have developed a rivalry with Sporting Kansas City as well. The colours of the club are orange, black and white.
