Our football match prediction:
Real Salt Lake have been totally out of form of late. The Royals suffered a loss in each of their previous four league games and it is more than obvious that the team struggle at the back. Real Salt Lake were hammered by New England (0-4) at the weekend and it has to be noted that they failed to score in previous three league games. The hosts are eager to put an end to the negative trend, but beating star-studded New York City is easier said than done. Andrea Pirlo has been playing below expectations this season and, as a result, he’s lost his place in the starting line-up. However, fellow superstar David Villa has been in a fine form of late and we predict that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition back-line. You should bear in mind, though, that New York City are after their first ever win over Real Salt Lake.
Highlighted Player (Yura Movsisyan):
Yura Movsisyan is a Real Salt Lake City footballer who plays for Armenian national team as well. Movsisyan was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, but his family moved to the United States while he was a boy and, as a result, he started his youth career at Pasadena Lancers. Following a one year of college soccer, Kansas City Wizards chiefs offered him a professional contract. The Armenian attacker scored five goals in 28 league appearances for the Wizards and in 2007 he signed for Real Salt Lake City. After spending two seasons at the MLS club, Movsisyan moved to Europe, signing a deal with Danish side Randers. Speaking of his stay in Russia, the Armenia international played for the likes of Krasnodar and Spartak Moscow and he scored no less than 48 goals in the Russian top flight. In 2017 he returned to Salt Lake City and he is expected to play an important role in Jeff Cassar’s team in the 2017 MLS campaign. Movsisyan made his Armenia debut on August 11, 2010 in a friendly against Iran.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls. Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals. New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue. Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
